It’s nearly summertime! Even though it’s so hard to tell with all the non-stop rain and bizarre weather this spring. But we won’t let that distract us from the fact that it is nearly summertime and we need to protect our skin. As such, we have been testing some sunscreens and here are the ones that made the cut.
Acnecide Daily Moisturiser SPF30 50ml
This sunscreen is also a chemical sunscreen that provides SPF30 and broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection. This sunscreen was dermatologically tested on sensitive and acne-prone skin. It claims to provide 24-hour hydration.Active Ingredients

- Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane
Why we love it
We love this sunscreen because it is non-comedogenic meaning that it won’t clog your pores and it is dermatologically tested giving us some ease about these claims.
It is lightweight and doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy making it perfect for dry skin and oily skin. This sunscreen is easy to access and is very affordable which we love. Plus, we experienced no sensitivity around the eyes.
Black Girl Sunscreen SPF 30
This is a chemical sunscreen from a black-owned brand and we love to see it. It is broad-spectrum SPF 30 and is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes.
This sunscreen does not include Oxybenzone and Octinoxate. Oxybenzone has been found to absorb into the bloodstream due to its very good absorption. In a laboratory experiment on animals, it was detected in urine after 4 hours of application. It is important to note that it has not been tested on humans in real-life conditions.

Why we love it
We love this sunscreen because it can be used for the face and body. It is 100% cast free and leaves no white residue behind. The ingredients are also awesome for dryer skin, as it is infused with Jojoba and Avocado oil which are gems in sunscreen. These ingredients soothe, hydrate and moisturise the skin. Plus, it is fragrance-free for our sensitive sunscreen wearers.
Once on the face, this sunscreen leaves the skin beautiful, hydrated and dewy. However, this could be problematic for oiler skin types. Perhaps this sunscreen would be better suited in colder climates. No matter the weather, you still need SPF protection from UVA rays. We’ve experienced no sensitivity around the eyes
Bondi Sands SPF 50+ Face Sunscreen Lotion
This sunscreen has UVA and UVB protection. It is water-resistant for up to 4 hours. This sunscreen is very similar to the Black Girl Sunscreen, it also has a very hydrating formula making it perfect for dry skin.Active Ingredients

Why we love it
We love this sunscreen because it is so hydrating and it has an SPF50 compared to the rest of the sunscreens mentioned here. It is fragrance-free and reef-friendly which we love to see. It is also the most affordable sunscreen on our list retailing for £7.99. It has no cast and leaves the skin feeling hydrated and dewy. We’ve experienced no sensitivity around the eyes.
