Kinky Tresses Best Products For Type 4 Hair- AQ Online

After hearing nothing but great reviews from Youtube about Kinky Tresses being an excellent choice for tighter and dryer textures. I just had to try it for myself.

So you can only imagine my excitement when Kinky Tresses became available to buy from AQ Online.

What we love about Kinky Tresses

  • Products crafted for Type 4 Hair
  • Products are vegan
  • The brand is black and women-owned
  • Avocado and Coconut are their core ingredients
  • Products are nourishing and richly blended
  • Kinky Tresses Avocado Infusion Sulfate-Free Moisturising Shampoo 8 oz

Key Ingredients: Rosemary, Shea Butter, Coconut, Avocado and Lavender

I pre-pooped my hair with the African Pride Moisture Miracle Detangle & Condition Pre-Shampoo removing all the knots and tangles using my Kazmaleje Kurlsplus Paddle Comb. I then sectioned my hair into 4 quadrants.

Considering that I only applied a small amount of the Kinky Tresses Shampoo, I was so shocked by how it lathered. I ended up using the tiny small applied to a single section for the rest of my hair.

I found the shampoo to be so hydrating and perfect for dry hair. I could gently detangle and manipulate my hair. This means a lot considering the bad experiences I've had with drying shampoos.

My curls felt hydrated, moisturised and were defined once I rinsed my hair. I went in with another lather since I am following the core principles of the 30-day hair detox.

Kinky Tresses Avocado Infusion Restorative Conditioner 8 oz

Key Ingredients: Mango, Lavender, Avocado, Argan Oil, Protein

Kinky Tresses don't have a rinse out conditioner so I went straight in with their deep conditioner. It is so thick in consistency it looks and smells like actual hair butter. The one thing I loved about the deep conditioner is that it only needs 5 minutes to work unless you want a deeper penetrating treatment under the hooded dryer.

This was essential since I wanted a shorter and hassle-free wash day. The deep conditioner stayed in my hair for around 15 minutes whilst I continued with my normal shower routine. I have to say that I have used it both in the shower and under the hooded dryer and it worked excellently each time.

This deep conditioner works well if you suffer from dry and brittle hair. It has a low concentration of protein to help strengthen the hair. While also moisturising to provide you with a healthy balance of moisture and protein. My hair felt silky and soft.

Kinky Tresses Avocado Infusion Hair Milk 8 oz

Key Ingredients: Olive Oil, Lavender, Avocado, Argan Oil, Coconut

I started on damp hair and applied the Hair milk from root to tip and detangled each small section with my Tangle Teezer Wet Detangling Hairbrush. This helps to keep my roots smooth and to stop them from getting matted. I used the As I AM JBCO Water on areas that got too dry.

The milk has a vanilla scent to it with the perfect consistency for both thin and thick natural hair. It is significantly thinner than the Camille Rose Naturals Curl Love Moisture Milk which I can find to be too thick.

Kinky Tresses Coconut Mango Hair Butter 8 oz

Key Ingredients: Mango, Coconut, Argan oil and Aloe Vera

The mango hair butter is so thick and looks irresistible. It smells gorgeous and does an amazing job at making my hair feel super moisturising and sealing in the moisture from the hair milk.

Although I didn’t do a twist out with the hair butter, I found that it worked so well for my wash and go. I didn’t go too heavy-handed with it. This prevented my hair from feeling weighed down for my wash and go.

    In Conclusion

Nothing is more pleasing to me than to try products that provide me with lasting moisture. I am happy to say that Kinky Tresses is a new favourite. There isn't one single product from the line that didn't perform well.

Nothing makes having natural hair easier to manage than amazing products with slip and moisture that lasts. Not to mention, a shorter wash day.
