So, I have recently embarked on this journey to try out new natural hair-care products, I wanted to take advantage of the extra time we have to give more attention to my hair and try out different twist out and braid out styles.
I will start with the EDEN Bodyworks Curl Defining Cream just from opening the tub I noticed that the smell was delicious. It gave me this sort of tropical, summertime coconut smell (it is a very subtle and likeable scent).
It was designed to define and separate curls and waves. As well as infuse moisture and strengthen the hair strands. It also provides great frizz control (which I definitely can attest to).
Texture, Feel and Scent
The texture was soft, creamy and RICH! The texture is very thick, which my hair absolutely loves, and it has this sort of soft velvety feeling. I could just tell it would slip right through the hair.
I sectioned out my hair, making sure that I was working on mostly dry hair because I recently figured out that that is the best way for me to get defined curls whilst retaining length as well. The product worked itself very easily through my hair strands and I noticed that it was very moisturising too.
The key ingredients are Aloe Vera, Avocado Oil, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil, Vegetable oil, Glycerin, Keratin and Vitamin E.
It is free from; mineral oil, sulphates and parabens, dyes and it is cruelty free. The formula is humidity resistant (perfect for summertime!)
Texture, Feel and Scent
As for The Mane Choice 24k Glistening Twisting Gel, the consistency is the total opposite. It is more like a wet slippery texture. The colour is really pretty with golden specs (absolutely in love). The smell is equally BOMB, like I almost want to eat it!
I applied it the same way I did the Eden Bodyworks, but I noticed this sticky feeling on my fingers which I did not like. It was also very moisturising surprisingly because gels are normally quite drying for my hair. It does state on the bottle that it has signature infusion of oils which is 'focuses on keeping your hair soft while delivering amazing definition'. I definitely agree with that because I experienced precisely that!
The key ingredients were Oils were Kalahari Oil, Oleaster Oil, Mongongo Oil, Baobab Oil. It is free from Glycerin, Mineral Oil, Parabens and Sulphates.
Overall, I like them both because they are both very moisturising and provided great definition.
Although I would say Eden Bodyworks could be weigh down the on the hair if too much is applied, as it is very thick. This does mean that a little will go a long way.
The Mane Choice 24k Twisting Gel is definitely an amazing gel with fantastic ingredients. If you want quality ingredients that aid in hair growth and length retention whilst providing defined tresses. I also think it would work great for a wash and go.
