Effortless post-workout products to refresh and neutralise sweaty odour- AQ Online
When it comes to post workouts for us coily and relaxed girls. There isn’t much differentiation, we just want to work out and prevent the sweat from reverting our hair or making it frizzy and dry. Whilst, of course, maintaining our existing hairstyles without the need to wash our hair every day and stripping it of its natural oils. Not to mention the work and effort that goes into wash day.

These are my favourite products that I use to maintain my styles while I work out up to 4 times per week and prevent dryness and odour.

Cantu Refresh Apple Cider Vinegar Dry Co-Wash

I only discovered dry co-washes for natural hair less than a year ago. However, the ones I tried in the past left a white cast in my hair and were extremely drying.

That is why the Cantu Co-wash is perfect. The ingredients are free from sulphates and silicones. It simply works by spraying it on your scalp and allowing it to absorb the excess oils while refreshing your scalp from the sweat with no white residue.

The ingredients are made up of Apple Cider Vinegar, Tea Tree and Shea Butter so it also doubles as a part conditioner that adds a natural shine. The bottle doesn’t lie when it says it can bring your strands back to life.

If you have straight or a loose hair texture. The Cantu Co-wash is all you need. Liberally spray your hair and brush it out.

For my natural girls, I recommend you spray this on your scalp and the perimeter of your hair and go in with the Defunk afterwards to add moisture.

Uncle Funky's Daughter Defunk Hair Refresher Tonic 236 ml

After the Cantu Dry Co-wash. I then use the Defunk! It works amazingly well for refreshing your hair but adding moisture and neutralising odour from that sweaty exercise.

The spray is lightweight and smells amazing. I use it daily after my post-workouts or if my hair is having a bad odour day. The ingredients include Lavender Extract, Chamomile Flower Extract, Rosemary and Lemon Balm Leaf Extract.

For my natural hair, I spray all over and re-twist if I’m doing a twist out. However, I have been rocking mini twists lately. Thus, I simply place my hair in a high bun.
